The Countdown to Valentine’s day has ended and The Lust Experience has opened it’s doors… and by doors, we mean the opening of the forums!

So before you do anything else (even keep reading this article), go register for the forums. We’ll wait.

Oh and if you’re out of state, don’t worry. This experience is open to all–even those in UK.

…

…

…

Okay now that you’ve signed up. Let’s dig a little deeper into the site and what The Lust Experience even is.

We know that The Lust Experience is brought to you by “the minds that brought you The Tension Experience.” For those of you unacquainted with The Tension Experience, it was a groundbreaking On-Going Immersive Experience that lasted for almost ten months. It followed a mysterious organization known as The OOA Institute. Your interactions with them were fleshed out over 8 months through multiple characters, a strong narrative, in-person meet-ups, and a thriving community on the forums. This culminated in Ascension–a three-hour immersive experience. It was beautiful, it was heartbreaking, and it was captivating.

On the final night of The Tension Experience, Michelle–a radical of the OSDM–informed us that The Tension Experience was simply a a front for this organization that was gathering data on us during “tense” experiences. By collecting data, they can more accurately predict our emotions and reactions–giving them the power to control the masses. If they could collect data on reactions to “lustful” experiences as well, it would just be one step closer to complete control. Afterall, Lust Experience is proudly presented by the OSDM.

With the opening of The Lust Experience, it looks like an On-Going Immersive section will proceed any shows they have. The forum will facilitate all interactions leading up to shows, so sign up and join the immersion early.

The theme of The Lust Experience is obviously Lust. But what exactly is Lust? Lust can be a desire for someone, but it can also be a longing for something. Looking into the seal on the Lust page, the words “Power, Sex, Secrets, Control, Love, Desire, Ominous” encircle the so called “Lust Circle of Trust.” These first six words all fit in with the theme of Lust–but the last (Ominous) hints at something darker behind the scenes.

Update: The Initial “Lust Circle of Trust” had the words “Power, Sex, Secrets, Control, Love, Desire, and Ominous.” However, it was updated to now read “Desire, Power, Sex, Love, Control, Lies, Rejection.” These fit more in line with tones and themes expected in the experience.

The Forum has the following categories currently: Conjecture, Just Friends, Relationships, Sightings, and Speculation. Most seem pretty normal forum categories, except for Just Friends and Relationships. This hints strongly that The Lust Experience will focus strongly on relationships–whether they are friendly or more. As director, Darren Lynn Bousman said in an interview with The Verge, ““Don’t let the name fool you. This will be soul-crushing. It also can be about destroying your heart, as well. This is all about making you feel.”

Finally, as noted by Addison Born on the forums, there are some already on the forum before we even entered. These people have usernames like “TheController,” “TheVoyeur,” “WireTrees,” and “LustAdder.” While they have yet to break the silence, we look forward to their first words.

Update: Forum User Kipsie posted that the source code contained nothing special–it was only a wordpress site. TheController broke silence and told her “Are you sure there’s nothing interesting–keep looking.” A line in the source code was found calling out the date February 15th, 7pm. Then TheController deleted their post (thanks Meghan!).
